The membership of the Seven Day Adventist Church in Ghana has expressed their deepest regret of the sudden death of the late President His Excellency Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.
The church extends their condolences to the family especially to the former first lady Ernestina Naadu Mills and the nation as well.
A statement signed by Pastor Samuel Adama Larmie, President of the church, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said President Mills lived up to the Biblical injunction that; “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as you are working for the Lord and not for men”.
It said Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills lived as though he agreed with Solomon who says; “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom”.
The Church thanked God for granting the nation such a remarkable son who served excellently in all positions he occupied with selfless dedication, excellent service, humility and respect for all people and persevered even to the end.
The Adventist Church expressed the hope that as a lasting tribute to the memory of President Mills, peace, true love and unity would reign in Ghana, saying may the Lord Almighty comfort the entire nation and grant the new President the wisdom to rule in such trying times.
